The time to trust
Is when you cannot trace,
When darkness hides God’s face,
And settles on your way; Trust then.
The time to trust
Is when there’s danger near,
And when the heart, through fear,
Would falter or would fail; Trust then.
The time to trust
Is when some earthly stay,
Or strength, has slipped away,
And left you insecure; Trust then.
The One to trust
Is God - not self, nor friend.
Man’s aid must have an end
Of power, or will to help;
So trust God evermore.
