HOME CALLS

Nineveh, NS - George W. R. Hubley, age 82, on May 27. Our beloved brother was saved in 1948, through the text of John 3: 36. He was baptized and received into assembly fellowship at Clementsvale. Later, due to employment he moved to Nineveh, where he was an elder until the time of his death. George had a love for the assembly and the spreading of the gospel, and labored in Weaver’s Settlement, NS. His funeral was well attended, with the gospel plainly preached by Albert Hull, Gerard Roy, and William Bingham. He was predeceased by his first wife Sadie (Maling), and is survived by his wife Joyce (Aptt), four sons, one daughter, and ten grandchildren. Two of his children are in assembly fellowship.

San Diego, CA - Andrew Hall, age 83, on June 10. Our dear brother came from Belfast in 1948, and was saved while working in Toronto. After his marriage he moved to Detroit and was in the Schoolcraft assembly until 1969, when he moved to San Diego with his family. He was an overseer and correspondent there for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and two sons and their families.

Lake Shore, ON - Gordon J. McIntosh, age 82, on June 13. Our brother was saved in 1934 in meetings of brethren McBain and Klabunda, and was in the Lake Shore assembly since 1943. He always had a care for the welfare of the assembly, and as a carpenter also took on much of the responsibility for building the new hall in 1979-80. He is survived by his wife Helen, four children, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The hall was filled to capacity for the funeral, with many from the community attending. The services were shared by his son Douglas, William Metcalf, Lorne Langfeld, and his brother-in-law Bruce Fuller.

Welland, ON - Ronald Yade, age 73, on June 24. Our brother passed into the presence of his Lord after being diagnosed only two months earlier with a brain tumor, which advanced rapidly. His seat will be empty and he will be missed. He and his wife Laura (Boies) were in happy fellowship in the assembly at Welland. Please pray for his widow, two children, Cheryl and Russell, who are saved and have children still out of Christ. The large number of believers, relatives, and neighbors at his funeral gave witness to his good testimony as a believer. James Smith and Ronald’s brother Lorne shared in the funeral service.
